9/1/07 - SBD - Gilmore Sa Bom

This past Saturday was another Master-Gilmore-kill-your-legs-make-you-want-to-puke sort of class. I wish we got to do those a little more often. I actually like them!

Warm up

  • Ran laps around the do jang (forwards, backwards, switching your hips)
  • Duck walked once around the do jang
  • Squat jumping jacks
  • Calf raises
  • Found a partner (Joe) they held our belts while we tried to run across the floor and back
  • Stretching
Kicking Techniques (Jok Gi)
  • Front, round, side, back, hook - we either did 3 push ups after each kick or held a lunge or squat
  • "Basic" Jump kicks (front, round, side, inside outside)
  • Double/combo kicks (ie - front,round :: hook, round :: inside outside, back)
  • Spinning in place kicks (this got us real dizzy since we would land behind)
  • "Advanced" jump kicks (back leg front, split, back, etc)
Hand Techniques (Soo Gi)
  • Blocks
  • Punches
  • Combos
Closing
  • Got back with our partner (Joe) and did piggy back rides back and forth the floor until we were told to stop
  • Piggy back lunges until told to stop
  • Piggy back calf raises x 10 reps
